Capturing the essence of youthfulness in its purest form is an excellent way to catch a glimpse into the future. Being able to experience the natural progression of life is a gift, many of us have been able to enjoy. Some of life’s most important lessons are learned when we experience the joy of bringing life into the world. Many of those lessons are identical to those we’ve learned as children, while others teach us the true definition of “the youth are the hope for the future!”

Shooting in an area that has quickly become the art capital of the South East-Wynwood, is located in the historic design district of Miami. During this shoot connections were made and lessons were learned. Setai is an energetic 10 year old, dancer, model, stylist and blogger. Her initial role was that of the subject, but she quickly became the teacher. There is something so real and innocent that is experienced while shooting children. During the shoot, Setai expressed a strong desire to produce the same type of art that she has grown accustomed to being the subject of. Loaded with questions about basic photography fundamentals an inadvertent review of photography took place. In retrospect, this shoot foreshadows the passage of youthfulness and gives me hope for the future.
